Rebecca Hernandez
Student
My name is Rebecca Hernandez, and I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I majored in Environmental Studies and Sociology and minored in Educational Studies. I was born and raised in Sonoma County in a family of farmworkers, that shaped my passion for environmental health and community-centered environmental action.
Through my academic and professional experiences, I have developed a strong commitment to supporting farmworker communities and advancing environmental justice. During the summer, I had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Carly Hyland as a STEER Intern with the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, where I contributed to the Farmworker Resource Center project and the Sonoma County Environmental Health Youth Council.
I am deeply passionate about travel and cultural exchange and enjoy exploring new places and connecting with people from different backgrounds. I also love food, so during my free time I enjoy trying new restaurants with friends!
